Emergency Escape Route Planner
Clear, simple directions to get out of danger β follow the biggest road and go. No guesswork when seconds count.
Universal Escape Rules
β’ Leave early. Roads choke within hours of an evacuation order. The first hour is your best hour.
β’ Follow the biggest highway. Interstates are built wide for a reason β they move the most people fastest.
β’ Know your route before you start the car. A wrong turn in gridlock can trap you.
β’ Keep your gas tank above half. Gas stations run dry and lose power in disasters.
β’ Never shelter in a river valley below a dam or volcano β flood waves and lahars follow the water.
β’ Go UP and AWAY. For floods, tsunamis, and dam failures, elevation is safety. Get 100+ feet above the water.
Before You Leave β Pre-Evacuation Checklist
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me." β Psalm 23:1β4
He leads the way out. Trust Him, stay calm, and move. In Jesus' name β Amen.

Always follow official orders first. When local emergency management issues an evacuation order, road closure, or shelter-in-place directive, follow it β they have real-time road, hazard, and weather data that this page does not. When in doubt, go uphill and inland, and call 911.
